Who We Are
Our Story
Modern Archaic Theatre Company was founded the Spring of ‘23 by a couple of college freshman who were strictly forbidden by their theatre college to perform during the school year—so they produced a musical during spring break (which was only a week)!
The joy of that experience launched into now, three months away from its fourth year as a company!
Our Purpose
We believe in the tried and true phrase “those who cannot remember the past are doomed to repeat it” but not just the horror of it—we also believe in humor of it.
People have always been people, people will always be people—we’ve always laughed at the same things, cried, loved, and wanted the same things—the spirt of humanity has always been the same, so Modern Archaic Theatre Company exists as a way to illustrate that soul of humanity through the ages, drudging up classics, reviving literature, and educating through history and humor.

Vira-Mariia Toropova (she/her) is a Marketing Director, Graphic Designer and Photographer at Modern Archaic Theatre. She is so excited for everyone to see the amazing work that we do!

Bea Lemaster
Bea Lemaster (they/them) is a Director and Development Associate with Modern Archaic Theatre Company. They work to analyze the theatres mission and vision as they direct new adaptations of classic stories and work with the team to procure funding, move closer to obtaining a Nonprofit 501(c)(3) status, and grow as an organization.

Jesse James Hoover
Jesse James Hoover (he/him) is an actor, playwright, director, the Artistic Director, Casting Director, and Co-Founder at Modern Archaic. Since his first year of college, he's been passionate about observing and developing upon classics, believing that they are the best way to highlight today and see tomorrow; he brings this with him when he casts, directs, writes, acts, and selects shows.
